Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of the children and only daughter of Richard McCormick in 1956 was born at Woodland Hills (California) on 5 August. Her father was a teacher as her mother remained at her home. Michael, Dennis, Kevin as well as her sister are all older. Beginning at a very early stage of life, McCormick loved to sing and dance, and would often put on puppet shows for children in the community. The fame-making fairytale of McCormick began when she was crowned the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6years old, which resulted in an inquiry from the an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency, who wanted to know if she was interested in to enter the show business. McCormick's first big job was in 1964 when she appeared in an advertisement for Mattel's new doll "Baby Pattaburp." In the same year, she starred in a commercial for"Chatty Catherine," Mattel's newest doll "Chatty Catherine" doll, and she was then cast to perform the show, Wind It up and It is Broken. 'The Brady Bunch' In 1969, McCormick was chosen from a field of 1,200 children who had auditioned for the role of the eldest of three towheaded daughters in the upcoming TV show The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with an unintended family. The show ran for five seasons. In her book Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice, published in the year 2008, McCormick admitted that in the fifth season of the show, she almost lost her virginity to her screen brother and co-star, Barry Williams. The time was when she was 16, while he was just 19. She said that "it could have occurred" however the timing was not the right time.
